Alma Pöysti

Alma Pöysti graduated from Teatterikorkeakoulu (a theatre academy) in 2007 and is now a freelance actor in Finland and employed by the Stockholm City Theatre. Recent work has included Fosterlandet, co-produced by the Gothenburg City Theatre, Svenska Teatern (the Swedish Theatre), and the Stockholm City Theatre under the direction of Anna Takanen, the main female role in Laura Ruohonen's play, Luolasto (The Cave), at the Finnish National Theatre in 2014, the URHO production at the Kiasma Theatre in 2013, Uncle Vanya at the Klockriketeatern 2012-2013 and The Cherry Orchard at the Turku City Theatre in 2013, directed by Andrij Zholdak. In 2013, Pöysti was awarded the Ida Ahlberg Foundation's Young Actor's Incentive Prize and the Svenska Kukturfond's Framtidpriset. She was closely associated with Svenska Teatern from 2007 to 2011.
