Jan Voboril

Principal French horn with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and Solistes Europeéns, Luxembourg, Jan Vobořil has achieved success in several music competitions, including the Prague Spring International Music Competition and the International Horn Competition in Geneva. In the early 1990s, he played with the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra under Claudio Abbado, until he became principal horn with the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra. From 1994 to 2004, he held the same position with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, also playing regularly with the Prague Chamber Orchestra. Jan Vobořil has also performed as soloist with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Prague Symphony Orchestra. He is a member of the Prague Wind Quintet, Czech Philharmonic Horn Quartet, and the Czech Horn Quartet. Since 2011, Jan Vobořil has been guest principal French horn with the NDR Symphony Orchestra Hamburg and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra.
