Jussi Myllys

Jussi Myllys is a diverse performer, appearing in opera, at concerts and as a singer of Lieder, with a repertoire that extends from the Baroque to new music. From 2006 to 2009, he was with the Frankfurt Opera, and later a soloist with the Deutsche Oper am Rhein (German Opera on the Rhine). He has also played guest roles at the Geneva Opera, the Savonlinna Opera Festival, the Finnish National Opera, the Bavarian State Opera, the Semperoper, Dresden, and the opera houses in Naples and Paris, under the baton of such musicians as Kent Nagano, Esa-Pekka Salonen and Zubin Mehta. He has also performed in Prague alongside Peter Schreier, and in St Peter's, in the Vatican, under Helmuth Rilling. He thinks that regular Lieder recitals keep his voice and mind alert.
