Kristiina Salmi

Kristiina Salmi is an oboist from Tampere, who in 2016 gained a master's degree at the University of Music Lausanne where her teacher had been Jean-Louis Capezzali. She had previously studied for a bachelor's degree under Jorma Valjakka at the Sibelius Academy, gaining the qualification in 2013. Salmi has also studied with Anni Haapaniemi and Vincent Gay-Balmaz and with Jérôme Guichard at the Conservatoire de Lyon in France. At present she is at the Sibelius Academy where she is finishing her master's studies. She has performed chamber music mainly in Finland and Switzerland, and in spring 2016 she and her quartet were chosen to put on their own concert for the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation RTS. Kristiina Salmi is also an experienced orchestral musician and worked with the Finnish National Opera as oboe and cor anglais player (oboe) during its 2014‒2015 and 2016‒2017 seasons.
