Petri Mäkiharju

Petri Mäkiharju has a long track record as a musician and double bass player, at home whatever the genre or musical style it happens to be. He is mainly employed as alternating leader of the double bass section of the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, but he is also in demand as a guest player with several Finnish symphony orchestras. Besides working with orchestras, though, Mäkiharju is an active chamber musician, performing in various ensembles in Finland and abroad. He also makes regular appearances as a soloist. His solo concert tour - Con Trabajo - incorporates solo recitals as well as performances with orchestra. He also plays popular music quite often. To add to all this, he is also a pretty good left back on the football pitch and defenceman in the ice hockey rink.
